Cookie Policy

Effective date: September 8, 2026

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They help us remember your preferences and understand how you use our platform.

Cookies We Use

_vercel_*EssentialVercel deployment and routingSession
_fbpAdvertisingMeta (Facebook) pixel — measures whether our adverts led to a sign-up. Only set if you choose “Accept all”.3 months
_fbcAdvertisingMeta (Facebook) pixel — records that you arrived from one of our adverts. Only set if you choose “Accept all”.3 months

Essential cookies are required for the Service to function and are always set. Advertising cookies are set only if you choose “Accept all” on our cookie banner, and never before. If you choose “Essential only”, the Meta pixel is not loaded at all and Sentry records no session replays.

We use Sentry to be told when something on the site breaks. On every visit it may receive an error report with the page address (with any private link tokens and email addresses removed first), your browser type and the technical details of the error; it sets no cookies for this. Only if you choose “Accept all” may a small share of visits additionally be recorded as an anonymised session replay to help us reproduce a bug — every piece of text is masked and every image is blocked in such a recording, and you can stop it at any time by changing your cookie choice.

We measure visits to our website with Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores no personal data and does not follow you across other sites: it counts page views and records the referring site or campaign tag (for example utm_source) in aggregate. When you create an account we keep the campaign tag or referring site you arrived from on your account record so we know which advert brought you to us.

Advertising & the Meta Pixel

We advertise The Groomers Base on Facebook and Instagram. To know whether those adverts actually bring groomers to us, we use the Meta pixel, provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited.

The pixel loads only after you select “Accept all” on our cookie banner. If you select “Essential only”, or make no choice at all, it is never loaded and the _fbp and _fbc cookies are never set.

If you do accept, the pixel tells Meta that a page was viewed and, when you create an account, that a sign-up happened. We also send that same sign-up event to Meta from our own servers (Meta’s Conversions API), so the measurement still works when a browser blocks the pixel. In that server-side message your email address is included only as an irreversible SHA-256 hash — Meta uses it to match the sign-up to an advert, and we never send the address itself. This is also gated on the same “Accept all” choice.

We do not send Meta any information about your clients, their pets, your bookings or your payments. Ever.

You can withdraw consent at any time — it takes one click, the same as giving it. Use the button below (or the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of any page) to reopen the banner and choose “Essential only”. The pixel stops loading immediately and the _fbp and _fbc cookies are deleted from your browser. Meta’s own handling of data it already received is covered by the Meta Privacy Policy.

Essential Cookies

Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are necessary for the Service to work. They are used for authentication (keeping you logged in) and security. No personal data is shared with third parties through these cookies.

Managing Cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging into the platform. Refer to your browser's help documentation for instructions:

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as we add new features or services. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
